7/11/2018 Scott Business Association
Scott Business Association will be presenting its July "Lunch & Learn"
on Thursday, July 19, 2018, from 11:45am to 1:00pm
at the Holiday Inn & Suites in Scott, LA, located at 736 I - 10 S. Frontage Rd.
Join us for lunch along with guest speakers Robin Leblanc and Michelle Mahne as we will go over The Tax and Jobs Act of 2018,
which created a lot of new changes for both individual and business taxpayers and has altered the methods and opportunities for tax planning in 2018.
The following topics will be covered:
Changes standard deduction and exemption amounts and their effects on itemizing.
New deduction for qualified business income.
Utilizing certain state tax credits to maximize certain federal deductions.
Increase in individual credits and phaseout limitations.
In addition, you will learn about The School Readiness Tax Credit (SRTC). This is a $1 for $1 credit equal to the amount donated,
up to $5,000 per tax year. For every dollar contributed your business will get the donated amount back as a credit against that company's
state income taxes or as a direct rebate from the state treasury. This money is used to bring quality care and education to
nearly 40 publicly-funded early learning centers (child care) serving over 3,000 children across Lafayette Parish.
Please RSVP with Blaine Prejean by email or you may RSVP on the Facebook Event Page by clicking here: Facebook Events
Seating is limited for this event.
